SEEP – Autumn/Winter Collection

SEEP explores colours we find during the autumn/winter period in Ireland.

Our new Soft Days / Soft Nights SEEP – Autumn/Winter Collection release, sees nine new additions of our hand dyed yarn, alongside thirteen new colourways being introduced to our mill yarn collection.

This is our third collection based on a beautiful concept of “soft days”. Here in Ireland, we tend to call rainy days “soft days”, and there’s something very pretty about this saying and it got us thinking about how we see colour on soft days. They make colours so much more moody, and in our opinion, pretty spectacular.

SEEP explores colours we find during the autumn/winter period in Ireland. We strive to capture glimpses of colour from our landscapes, our cities, from bogs to peat lands, to swimming in cold lakes and seas under dark ominous clouds, to seeing the colour of rain on water, to the sliver of colour we see under the wintry moonlight, and soft misty, dewy mornings watching the drizzle come down.

Swatches…! I’ve learned how important it is for knitters/makers to feel and see how the yarn knits up. Sometimes we think it will behave in one way, and in fact becomes something entirely different. Above starting from left to right is Illusion, Carbon and Moon Tide.

I managed to get an hour to myself in the mill and spun enough Moon Tide to knit White Mountain by Midori Hirose, I’m hoping to finish it by November to wear to Barcelona Knits! Fingers crossed!

Le grá,

Jess
