Croí is crafted by incorporating our mill-ends, fibre that would otherwise be discarded, with our Méara and Cór. Each colour is 50% recycled fibres resulting in an even more eco-friendly yarn with all of our signature beautiful subtleties. Croí will run alongside our permanent collections and be available for you in fingering and DK weights.
We are consistently seeking new ways to give back and help preserve the nature that is our muse. Croí (pronounced Cree) was born out of this desire and we are so proud to announce it’s arrival. Aptly named, Croí is a Gaeilge word meaning Heart. Sustainability and ethics have always been the centre of the Olann mission; the heart of our company.

You all know colour plays a big (okay, the BIGGEST) part in our wee mill, and so we will be breaking it down into the following – Warm/Dark, Cool/Dark, Warm/Light, Cool/Light, Warm/Neutral, Cool/Neutral, Bright/Jewel, Pastel. So, eight colours and the inclusion of two different colours plied together in some too (we are loving these right now)!
Those who’ve had mill ends know it’s a yarn hidden with a spectrum of colour, even if we work in the art of subtlety and nuance, and every batch is wonderfully unique.
